Verifying your debit card is an important step to ensure smooth transactions and uninterrupted access to Beem features. 


Below is a detailed, step-by-step guide explaining everything you need to know, from prerequisites to troubleshooting, while maintaining a clear heading hierarchy for easy reading.


Before You Begin: What You’ll Need

Before starting the debit card verification process, make sure the following requirements are met:


1. Primary Bank Account Requirement

  • You must have a primary checking bank account already linked to your Beem app.

  • The bank account should be active and in good standing.

2. Debit Card Requirement

  • The debit card must belong to the same primary bank account linked in Beem.

  • The card should be valid, non-expired, and support auto-debit transactions.


Step-by-Step Guide to Link and Verify Your Debit Card

Follow these steps carefully to link your debit card successfully:

Step 1: Open the Beem App

  • Launch the Beem app on your mobile device and log in to your account.

Step 2: Access Your Profile

  • Navigate to the “Profile” section from the app’s main menu.

Step 3: Go to Linked Accounts

  • Scroll down and select “Linked accounts.”

  • This section displays all bank accounts currently connected to your Beem account.

Step 4: Select Your Primary Bank Account

  • Tap on your linked primary bank account.

  • If a debit card is already linked, you’ll see its details here.

Step 5: Add or Replace a Debit Card

  • If no debit card is linked, tap the “+” icon in the top-right corner.

  • If a card is already linked and needs to be updated, select the “Replace” option.

Step 6: Allow Camera Access

  • When prompted, allow Beem access to your device’s camera.

  • This is required to scan your debit card securely.

Step 7: Scan Your Debit Card

  • Scan both sides of your debit card.

    • Cardholder name

Debit Card Verification Charges and Timeline

Temporary Verification Charge

  • A $0.57 verification charge will be applied to your debit card.

  • This amount is fully refunded once verification is completed.

  • Make sure your account has sufficient funds to avoid verification failure.

Subscription and Verification Together

  • If you are subscribing and adding a debit card at the same time, the subscription debit may be used for card verification.

  • Ensure enough balance is available to cover both.

Verification Timeframe

  • Debit card verification usually takes up to 24 hours to complete.


What to Do If Verification Takes Longer Than 24 Hours

If the 24-hour turnaround time is exceeded and your debit card is still not verified:

Manual Verification Support

  • Share your latest bank statement in PDF format showing the $0.57 debit.

  • Email it to verify@trybeem.com after completing the card linking steps.

Important Privacy Note

  • Transaction screenshots are not accepted for manual verification due to privacy and security reasons.

  • Only official PDF bank statements will be reviewed.


Important Notes About Primary vs. Non-Primary Cards

Primary Debit Card Rules

  • Verification rules apply only to the primary debit card linked to the primary bank account.

Non-Primary and Secondary Accounts

  • Debit cards linked to secondary (non-primary) bank accounts cannot be verified.

  • Cards linked to the primary bank account but not marked as the primary card can be added but cannot be verified.

Key Reminders to Avoid Verification Issues

  • The debit card must belong to your linked bank account and support auto-debit.

  • Only use valid debit cards. Prepaid cards and credit cards are not supported.

  • Avoid repeated card linking attempts, as this may:

    • Delay the verification process

    • Result in multiple temporary verification debits


Important Notes for verifying the primary debit card linked to the primary bank account:

  1. A $0.57 verification charge will be applied to your account, which will be refunded back. Please make sure you have enough funds available.

  2. If you are subscribing and adding a card at the same time (mostly for new subscribers), the subscription amount debited will be used for verifying your debit card. Please make sure you have enough funds available.
  3. Verification typically takes up to 24 hours.
  4. If the 24-hour TAT is breached and the debit card verification is still not processed, please share the latest bank statement in pdf format to "verify@trybeem.com" showing the $0.57 debit after you have followed the card linking process.


Due to privacy and security reasons, a transaction screenshot cannot be considered for the manual debit card verification process.


The above points do not apply to debit cards linked to secondary bank accounts (non-primary bank accounts) or cards linked to the primary bank account but not designated as the primary card. Non-primary cards can only be added, but cannot be verified.
